SCHWERDT, C.F.G.R. (1862-1939). Hunting Hawking Shooting illustrated in a Catalogue of Books Manuscripts Prints and Drawings collected by C.F.G.R. Schwerdt . London: privately printed for the author, 1928-1937. 4 volumes extended to 10 by the inclusion of all states of the plates, 4° (323mm x 260mm). Engraved vignette on title and approximately 524 plates with over 1390 illustrations, a small number chromolithographic, many others mounted colour collotypes. Red morocco gilt by Kelly and Sons, top edge gilt, others uncut, original red cloth slipcases (a few very minor blemishes). Provenance : SCHWERDT COPY with his gilt arms at base of spines. A UNIQUE COPY, not only Schwerdt's own, but a copy showing every step of the colour plate processes used to obtain fidelity to the original books, the catalogue itself describing the greatest English sporting collection formed in the last century, and including over 3000 works.
