SCLATER, Philip Lutley (1829-1913) and Michael Rogers OLDFIELD THOMAS (1858-1929). The Book of Antelopes. London: Taylor and Francis for R.H.Porter, 1894-1900. 4 volumes, 4° (277 x 218mm). Title vignettes and illustrations, 100 hand-coloured lithographic plates by J.Smit and after J.Wolf, J.Smit and others, printed by M. & N.Hanhart. (Light spotting to titles of vols.I and IV.) Contemporary green cloth, spines gilt. A FINE COPY OF THE FIRST EDITION. The plates were prepared under the supervision of Sir Victor Alexander Brooke (1843-1891) by Joseph Wolf (who provided many of the drawings) and lithographed by J.Smit.
