Title: Scrapbook of Hawaii travel ephemera from 1950 Author: Place: Publisher: Date: 1950 Description: Scrapbook housing a large collection of Hawaii travel ephemera, from a family trip taken there in 1950-51. Including: Over 50 original snapshot photographs, some in color, most in black & white. Most measure 3½x5" with some variation. A few phtographs measuring 8½x6½ photograph of the travelers, including at the Royal Hawaiian and at the Moana Hotel. Honolulu Symphony Orchestra, fiftieth anniversary, 1950-1951 season. Booklet 23 pp. With some laid in items. Color photographic folder from United Air Lines. Hawaiian Flight Kit, with several laid in booklets. 6 large color menus from the Royal Hawaiian hotel. Small flag souvenir from Matson Lines ship to Hawaii, plus luggas tags and stationery from the ship. Post cards, including real photograph post cards. Brochures, stamps, napkins, menus, etc. Plant quarantine inspection slips. A few large color illustrated menus from the SS Lurline. The family departed from San Francisco, May 15, 1950 for a trip to the Hawaiian Islands. This scrapbook is rich with original photographs, and travel ephemera of all kinds, including a tea package wrapper! Many of the original photographs are captioned (although most are detached from paper leaves, they are still in general order), and from these captions, com some of the travelers' names, including: Helen Best, Nelson and Jeffrey Best. Lot Amendments Condition: Scrapbook covers detached, some wear to leaves and contents; very good or near fine. Item number: 234394
