SEVEN SHIKASTEH CALLIGRAPHIC PANELS SAFAVID AND QAJAR IRAN, 18TH-19TH CENTURY Ink on paper laid down on coloured card, comprising a panel in black shikasteh script with 9ll. arranged diagonally on cream ground illuminated with gold floral scrolls with a large saz -like leaf, dated Rabi' II AH 1230 and possibly signed; two panels with small black shikasteh script, each line in clouds on gold ground, one signed 'Abd al-Majid (d. AH 1185) and dated Rabi' I AH 1174, the other with reverse marked "H.K. 5637"; two panels with two large lines in clouds on gold ground; a panel with three lines in clouds on silver ground; a panel with 11ll. written in two directions, the reverse with label of "H. Kevorkian Collection 1048" The largest panel 14 1/8 x 9¾in. (36 x 24.7cm.) (7)
