(13 13/16 x 8 9/16 in.), nineteenth-century maroon morocco, gilt center-piece ornament on sides, spine gilt lettered, turn-ins ruled in gilt, g.e., by Pratt, rebacked, original backstrip laid down, front free endpaper detached, frontispiece with upper, lower and inner margins extended and small repairs to fore-margin, title restored at gutter and upper blank margin and with short repaired tear at foot, dedication leaf (1A1) misbound after List of Actors and Catalogue leaf (1A4), approximately 120 leaves with one or more outer margins skilfully extended, very occasionally affecting border rules or a few letters, numerous small mostly marginal repaired tears, I6, Ll2 and approximately 10 other leaves with longer repaired tears affecting text, all affected letters and rules carefully supplied in manuscript facsimile . FOURTH FOLIO EDITION, first state of the imprint, engraved frontispiece portrait of Shakespeare by Martin Droeshout above verses by Jonson, woodcut printer's device on title (McKerrow 263), woodcut initials.
