Keulemans, hand-coloured map of the family Alcedinidae, and one uncoloured plate of 'Generic characters'. (A few plates at end affect by slight offsetting, without the 80-page chapter on 'Anatomy' by James Murie.) Contemporary blue morocco gilt, wide roll-tool borders, gilt panelled spine (joints and corners rubbed), original wrappers bound in at end, gilt edges. A good copy of 'a thorough monograph of the subject, containing all the available information respecting the birds in question and illustrated by fine hand-coloured plates.'
