AUTHOR'S PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed on title-page. H.M. 'Briton' and 'Tagus' were the second ships to land on Pitcairn, 1814, after the mutiny. With eye-witness account of the death of Fletcher Christian in 1793 and the author's interview with John Adams 'Briton' had been sent into the Pacific to search for Capt.
