Signed photographic portrait of Jimmy Hoffa Author: Place: No place Publisher: Date: No date Description: Silver gelatin print. 24.5x19 cm (9¾x7½"); presented loose in matted folder 26.8x22 cm (10½x8¾"). Signed by Hoffa, "James Hoffa", in blue ink. James Riddle Hoffa was an American labor union leader who served as the President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT) from 1957 until 1971. He played a major role in the growth and development of the union, which eventually became the largest (by membership) in the United States with over 2.3 million members at its peak, during his terms as its leader. Hoffa became involved with organized crime from the early years of his Teamsters work, ultimately disappearing on July 30, 1975. His body was never found and he was declared legally dead in 1982. Al Pacino plays a somewhat agitated Hoffa in Martin Scorsese's 2019 film The Irishman. Lot Amendments Condition: Crease to top right corner, a few minor creases in image area; near fine.
