Significant 1934 U.S. All-Star Tour of Japan Presentational Display Autographed by United States and Japanese Teams (PSA/DNA 7 NM) Extremely rare presentational display consisting of a charcoal illustrative rendering of the flags of the United States and Japan with titling for both "All-American" and "All Nippon" teams. Members of both teams have autographed the display in black fountain pen across the front neatly positioned on the respective flags. Signatures include B.Ruth, L.Gehrig, C.Mack, E.Averill, M.Berg, J.Foxx, C.Gehringer and J.A. Hillerich. All-Nippon players have signed in Japanese characters with Jimmy Horio also in English. Signatures range from 8-9 out of 10. Hand calligraphy signature by the artist at lower right with Nagoya, Japan denotation. 15"x22" matted and framed with minimal wear to a few areas at perimeter/corners. The only other known example of this medium was from the Lefty Gomez collection. Scarcity of the item and Lefty Gomez provenance is likely indicative that these were only given to the members of the tour themselves. Includes full LOAs from PSA/DNA and JSA: NM 15 x 22 in.
