The Connecticut Courant, and Weekly Intelligencer. Hartford, CT: Hudson and Goodwin, November 4, 1783. No. 980. 4pp. 10.25 x 17 in. Important Revolutionary War-era newspaper containing inside page news covering the signing of the Treaty of Paris, the definitive treaty between the United States and Great Britain formally ending the war. The article includes the following quote from C.J. Fox (p. 3): My Lord, I have the honor to acquaint you Lordship that Capt. Warner is just arrived with the preliminary articles between his Majesty and the States General, signed in Paris on the 2d instant ... The definitive treaty with the United States of America, was also signed at Paris the 3d inst. by David Hartly, Esq; his Majesty's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiaries, and the respective Plenipotentiaries of those States, and will be brought over by himself. I fend your Lordship immediate notice of these important events, in order that they be made public in the city without loss of time.
