Silver Oak, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley [Multiple Vintage Listing] Silver Oak, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley Napa 1992 (4 bts) 1994 (2 bts) 1995 (6 bts) Lot 402 12 bts (sc) per lot: USD 600-850 Founded in 1972 by Justin Meyer and Raymond Duncan, the Cabernets of Silver Oak Cellars have become some of the most popular (and, for that reason, among the scarcest) of California wines. Each vintage is snapped up almost immediately upon release. The attraction of Silver Oak stems from the distinctive and accessible style of the wines. Justin Meyer's mission is to produce wines that are supple and approachable upon release. To achieve this, the wines are given extended aging in predominantly American oak barrels. Initially the wines were produced exclusively from Alexander Valley fruit, though by the late 70s two other bottlings were added: Napa Valley (from Calistoga grapes), and Bonny's Vineyard (from Meyer's own vineyard in Oakville). The wines of Bonny's Vineyard developed a fiercely loyal cult of admirers, but production ceased after the 1991 vintage. SS. Quantity: 1
