Sir Noël Coward (1899 – 1973) - Autographed Presentation Copy to Lady Colefax, Coward (Noel) & Macnaughtan (Lorna, illustrator), A Withered Nosegay, first edition, London: Christophers, 1922, b/w full-page plates, contemporary black cloth only, 8vo, [1] Provenance: Sibyl, Lady Colefax (née Halsey; 1874-1950), interior decorator and society hostess, presented by Noël Coward (1899-1973), ink manuscript autograph signature and inscription above a dedicated and ironic poem to the recipient (possibly unpublished): 'To Lady Colefax/With my best wishes Noël Coward/4/5/22/"If woman's heart/could hold me true/That woman, Sibyl/would be you." Nice association copy. Some twist, shelf wear, etc. Contents fresh but for some light even toning, tight in binding. Endpapers somewhat browned. Signs of previous insect damage to recto gutter.
