SIX KINKO STYLE TSUBA EDO PERIOD (CIRCA 1700-1800) The tsuba comprising: a round shakudo plate carved in katakiri with three running horses in rain, similar on reverse, (dents and scratches), (Yokoya style, circa 1700)--7.6cm. h., 4.5mm. th.; an oval shibuichi plate carved with a No mask and box in katakiri , (circa 1800), inscribed Somin --7.2cm. h., 5mm. th.; a brass plate formed as two overlapping abalone shells, with additional small shells and the remains of a silver wash, (circa 1700)--6.1cm. h., 4mm. th.; a rounded, diamond-shape iron plate carved with a dragon in waves, with gold details, (circa 1800), (ex. Matt Garbutt collection #915)--7.4cm. h., 5mm. th.; a tanto size mokko iron plate inlaid with shakudo trees, (circa 1800), (sealed in gold on reverse, Kanmei )--6cm. h., 2.5mm. th.; an iron mokko plate decorated with gold nunome cherry petals and vines, (Higo style, circa 1800)--5.3cm. h., 4.5mm. th.
