Six leaves from pocket Bibles and a related university text, in Latin, illuminated and decorated manuscripts on parchment [France, Italy and England, thirteenth century] 6 leaves, comprising: (i) 2 leaves from a Bible, one with a historiated initial of Baruch seated as a medieval scribe with pen and knife in the act of writing, double column of 55 lines, France (Paris), mid-thirteenth century, 199 by 135mm.; (ii) leaf from Interpretations of Hebrew Names from a Bible, gold initial on coloured grounds, 3 columns of 55 lines, slightly trimmed at base, France (Paris), mid-thirteenth century, 197 by 134mm.; (iii) leaf from a Bible, red and blue initials with contrasting penwork, double column of 41 lines, edges darkened, Italy (Bologna), second half of thirteenth century, 186 by 128mm.; (iv) leaf from a Bible, red and blue initials with contrasting penwork filling entire upright margins and gutters, double column of 54 lines, each column numbered by later medieval hand, England, thirteenth century, 190 by 130mm.; plus another leaf from a university text, all in good condition
