Six newspapers, five of them relating to 1906 San Francisco Earthquake and Fire Author: Place: San Francisco Publisher: Date: 1906 & 1918 Description: Includes the combination Call-Chronicle-Examiner of April 19, 1906, the first newspaper published in San Francisco following the earthquake, plus the Call for April 18, 1906, the last newspaper published before the quake, and the Call for April 22, April 24 and April 25, 1906. Also, the Call for November 11, 1918, heralding the end of World War I. Interesting selection of newspapers recalling the greatest single disaster in the history of San Francisco, from "San Francisco in Ruins," to "Swirl of Fire Ends and Hope Runs High," "Work to Begin at Once, New City to Defy Flames," and "Specials are Deposed: Soldiers Arrest Them All by Order of Funston and Threaten Punishment if They Are Found Armed." Lot Amendments Condition: The issues for April 24 and 25 are worn with crease tears and tape repairs; others with less wear, all good to very good. Item number: 314319
