C.); Delhi Durbar 1911 (705 Rfn., 3 K.R.R.) mounted court style for display, first two with edge bruising and contact marks, fine; others very fine and better (6) £220-260 Footnote Frederick Standing was born in Blackburn, Lancashire in 1880. A Labourer by occupation he attested for the 3rd Battalion Loyal North Lancashire Regiment (Militia) on 27 August 1897 and joined the Regular Army - King’s Royal Rifle Corps on 24 January 1898. With the 3rd Battalion he served in South Africa, November 1899-July 1900 and November 1900-March 1903, Bermuda, March 1904-October 1905; Crete, February 1908-January 1909; Malta, January 1909-November 1910, and India, November 1910-October 1914. During the Great War he served with the B.E.F., 20 December 1914-19 August 1918, being posted to the 1st Battalion in November 1915. After a short period of leave in England Standing then returned to France, September 1918-February 1919. He was discharged on 4 March 1919 having completed his second period of engagement.
