SOLVYNS, Frans Baltasar. A Collection of Two Hundred and Fifty Coloured Etchings descriptive of the Manners, Customs, and Dresses of the Hindoos . Calcutta: 1799. Large 2° (515 x 345mm.). 12 parts in one volume, general title, 12 part titles, 11 frontispieces pasted to verso of final plate of preceding part and 227 etched plates, most coloured by hand (of 239, lacking plates in parts 1, 2, 4, 8, 11 & 12), the plates all trimmed to edge and laid down within double ink ruled frames, caption, section and plate number on printed paste-on slips, further descriptive slip pasted on preceding leaf. (Some minor dampstaining and worming throughout; occasional tears.) Contemporary calf (worn). Sold as a collection of plates, not subject to return.
