Soviet Russia: a collection of militaria, comprising: an alloy bust of Felix Dzerzhinsky, founder of the Soviet secret police; two flags from the Novgorod Soviet, which were flying there on the day of the August 1991 coup; a modern St Andrew's cross flag; and a ration card, issued during the hunger winter of 1990. [5] Provenance: property of an Anglo-Irish journalist who worked extensively in the U.S.S.R. and associated regions from 1985-1996. See also lot 23.
