SP A Royal Christmas Card signed by George VI and Elizabeth the Queen consort, 1941. Gilt crown to cover. Addressed to "Dearest Xenia", with printed greetings "With Best Wishes For Christmas And the New Year 42 (year written in pen)", signed "Bertie" and "Elizabeth" in black fountain pen ink. Opposite the signed page is a mounted black and white photograph of the King, the Queen and their daughters taken in August 1941 "outside the dear little church at Crathie". Overall size 16 x 32cm when opened. A few stains to cover and signed page, some yellowing to paper. The card is addressed to Grand Duchess Xenia Alexandrovna of Russia, sister of the last tzar Nicholas II. After the Revolution she fled Russia and settled in the United Kingdom. She was also first cousin to the English King George V.
