Finely bound in straight-grained calf gilt by Riviere & Son, sides and spines mottled to an unusual multicoloured design, triple ruled border on sides, spines with contrasting morocco lettering-pieces, ruled gilt in compartments with floral decoration, gilt edges. A VERY UNUSUAL AND ATTRACTIVE BINDING. TENNYSON, Alfred, Lord. The Works . London: Macmillan and Co., 1919. 8° (182 x 119mm). Contemporary polished tree calf gilt, single gilt floral border on sides, spines lavishly decorated gilt in compartments, morocco lettering-piece (part of covers very lightly faded), gilt edges.
