§ (The Collector: Objects to Clocks, 30th March 2021) KIRILL POSTOVIT (CZECH, B. 1964): A SMALL BRONZE FIGURE OF A RABBI KIRILL POSTOVIT (CZECH, B. 1964): A SMALL BRONZE FIGURE OF A RABBI, the bearded figure of Rabbi Loew raised on an integal base modelled as a building, raised on an ebonised plinth, sold together with a fully illustrated book about the sculptor and his work, signed by the artist, the bronze 22cm high, 26cm high on plinth Postovit's primitive figural forms relate to the Medieval and Romanesque style of sculpture whilst simultaneously embracing an expressive modernity and simplicity of form. He is a member of the Academic Artist's Association of Israel and since 1990 there have been more than 260 exhibitions of his work. Sculptural memorials are an integral part of his work and he produced the memorial to Holocaust victims at Roztoky near Prague and a further memorial in Israel. His work features in numerous national museums such as the National Museum of Jerusalem (Israel) and the Tel Aviv Museum of Modern Art (Israel). Provenance: Consigned by a friend of the sculptor.
