THE CONGO EXPEDITION (1879-1882) Forty-six contact prints including headquarters at Vivi, and the Congo with photographs of 'Camp in the bush', Stanley Pool and Leopoldville, Stanley and his staff, his porters, 'Crossing a river with the 'En Avant'' and others, with approximately seventy-seven contact prints and photographs of the Congo and region, 16 portraits of officers of the Congo Council (including Swinbune, Vetch, de Winton, Elliot and others', two of Stanley, one captioned by Stanley 'HM Stanley 1874'; and eighteen photographs of Stanley's illuminated diplomas and awards; and a humorous watercolour 'On Stanley Pool Civilization advances by leaps and bounds' by 'JFH. Xmas 1884' Album 2 ANGLO-AMERICAN TRANS-AFRICAN EXPEDITION (1874-1877): Journey's End - the arrival at Kabinda (J.
