First official coins series of Israel. A set issued by Bank Leumi, 1952-1954. Nine coins: 1,5,10,25,50,100,250 (two coins) and 500 Pruta and a coin in the value of 25 Mils, 1949. The 250 and 500 Pruta coins are made of silver. The coins are contained in a blue plastic package with a transparent Perspex plaque with the inscription "State of Israel 1949-1950" [Hebrew] and the State's emblem. This set of coins was issued by Bank Leumi in the years 1952-1954 for distribution amongst visitors, tourists and collectors. 300 such series are known, with somewhat different versions of the inscription on the plaque. Size of plastic package: 10.5X17 cm. Condition: UNC.
