Portrait, manuscript and map frontispieces, some maps printed in colours, manuscript facsimile plates in the text, woodcut initials printed in sky-blue. Midnight-blue half crushed morocco gilt by Birdsall, the spines gilt in 5 compartments divided by raised bands, titled in gilt in 2 compartments and dated at the foot, the other compartments decorated with floral tools within triple gilt fillet frames with foliate cornerpieces, top edges gilt, others uncut, original cloth covers and spine of volume I laid down and bound in at the end of volume I (unobtrusive, occasional light rubbing or chipping, some gilt edges slightly dusty or marked).
