First Edition. Signed and inscribed by Stravinsky to Merle Armitage on the half-title: "Yes Dear Armitage - left without acceptation nor rejection by the author of this book. Why? Cordially, I. Stravinsky, 1947." From the library of author and book designer Merle Armitage with his signature on the front pastedown, his name in ink at the top margin of the front flap of the dust jacket, and his decorative bookplate laid in loose. The first full-length critical study of Stravinsky's music to appear in England. Scarce in jacket.
