N signatures in second volume supplied from another copy (as noted by an old dealer's slip) though the paper matches nearly perfectly and any transition is hardly perceptible. Bound in period paneled calf with title labels in gilt. Some staining to boards, one small chip to front board of second volume, corners showing and some light loss at spine ends, three hinges lightly cracked, the whole well intact. Former owner's bookplate to pastedowns, first and last several leaves with staining to inner margins (gutter), else the contents are generally quite clean and bright.
