TASSO, Torquato Jérusalem délivrée. Traduit par Lebrun. Paris, Bossange, Masson & Besson, an II de la République [2 vol., 8vo: front.-[2]-front.-[2]-pp.; pl. (some foxing, sm. lack in bl. margin to p. of vol. II). Contemp. marbled calf, covers ruled with a triple gilt fillet, gilt orn. flat spines, gilt roll-stamp to the edges, gilt inside dentelle, blue paper on pastedowns and flyleaves, red sprinkled edges (occ. sl. traces of use). Nice copy. Illustrated with 2 frontispieces by Henriquez after H.-F. Gravelot, copper-engr. plates, 2 different title vignettes and 2 tail-pieces at the end of the volumes. In a translation (1st: of Charles-François-Lebrun (1739-1824), 1st duc de Plaisance, French statesman. He was created Arch-Treasurer and Prince of the Empire by Napoleon I. Ref. Cohen Prov.
