New York: Chekhov Publishing House], 1952. Original gray wrappers. Condition: lower backstrip chipped. eleven works by the famous russian woman humorist. “Teffi” was one of Russia’s wittiest writers. By the time of World War I, she was the most famous woman writer in Russia but she was forced to leave after the Revolution. Living and working in Paris, she became the greatest chronicler of Russian emigre life and her satirical stories about fallen grandeur were also published in Soviet Russia. (11).
