[May 1854], 1 page, 8vo, laid in opposite the drawing captioned "Farewell" at p. 256 of volume 1: "They sent me the April Newcomes [part] by mistake & I only saw the May [part] 2 days ago. I think the Colonel's Farewell is capital..."; Autograph manuscript fragment of The Newcomes, 1 page, oblong 12mo, 14 lines, inlaid and bound in opposite the printed text at p. 325 of volume 2 .
