With five original hand-colored pen and ink drawings inserted throughout; many volumes have original wrappers and advertisements bound-in, and several volumes have hand-colored plates. Uniformly bound in contemporary full tan calf, covers triple-ruled in gilt, spines elaborately tooled in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, with red and green gilt morocco lettering labels, two volumes with brown and green labels, gilt board edges and turn-ins, marbled endpapers, t.e.g., some volumes have all edges gilt. Condition : Minor rubbing and spotting, a few volumes with minor stains to spines and covers. an interesting collection of thackeray’s major works, with original wrappers bound-in and with five original watercolors.
