THE 1745 REBELLION -- [Prince JAMES EDWARD (1688-1766)]. A Letter&c. [?France: s.n.], 1742. 4° (176 x 144mm). 7,[1]p. Drop-head title preceded by 'Printed, 1742.' Begins: 'I received in due time, the letter or paper, written by your friend in March last,' and gives the undertaking: 'I ... will certainly never promise any thing, during my exile, but what I shall perform after my Restoration.' MOST RARE. ESTC records only one copy (Bodleian). [ Bound with :] A Poem compos'd the Second Day of November, 1747 . [Edinburgh, 1747]. 4° (192 x 136mm). Drop-head title. (Inner margins damaged and partly cut away, headpiece and numerals slightly shaved.) A Jacobite poem: 'While Scota's Tribes, on Hills, in Glens complains.' Foxon P-525. The Edinburgh Packet opened, by a collection of curious pamphlets published on occasion of the present unaccountable Rebellion, and on other important critical occasions, from the year 1724 to the year 1745, written by one and the same person. [Newcastle upon Tyne, 1745]. 6 works in one volume as issued, 4° (211 x 165mm). (General title repaired at inner margin, the second pamphlet lacking the final leaf.) Six pamphlets variously printed at Newcastle by John Gooding and at Edinburgh by Lumisden and Robertson, all with separate titles and registers. Attributed to Robert Wightman in a note on general title; and 2 other volumes, containing 22 tracts and sermons, the majority published 1745-46 (one volume considerably affected by damp and worming).
