The Pawnee Edition, printed by the Knickerbocker Press of New Rochelle. Sumptuous edition of Irving's account of exploration and the fur-trade from the Rockies west, 1832-1835, including the first record of the trapping expedition over the Sierras to California. The attractive bindings and text decorations were designed by Margaret Armstrong Lot Amendments Condition: Slight finger-soiling to cloth; faint darkening to tissue-guards and margins, Volume II front hinge cracking, bookplate of Neil Howard on the front free endpaper of each; else a near fine set.
