Sumptuously produced edition, handsomely bound and cased, perhaps most remarkable for the original tied fly, an example of the "Colonel Bates" salmon fly, tied by Ted Kantner and signed by him on the mat. The color plates of flies show over 300 ancient to modern patterns from the author's extensive collection; the extra suite of plates is in a linen folder matching the clamshell box. This is a copy of the "deluxe edition"; there is also a "limited edition" of 250 copies in a simple binding without the fly, but with the extra suite of plates, plus a regular trade edition.
