The Beatles A selection of mementos, records and Beatles ephemera collected by George Harrison's number 1 local fan, Susan Houghton [nicknamed Sue Cement Mixer] in the 1960s, including three unusual souvenirs sellotaped onto a piece of A4 paper: each carefully labelled, the first piece of George's guitar string, 1962 -- ½in. (1.5cm.) long , the second Stone from John's driveway at 251 Menlove Ave. Lpool -- ½in. (1.5cm.) diam. , the third Hedge from John's front garden.. ; a small amount of lilac coloured toilet paper from George Harrison's parents' home [possibly in Appleton, Cheshire] and two unpublished black and white snap-shots, one of Sue's friend Jenny sitting on George's blue Ford Anglia car in January, 1963 outside his home at 174 Macket's Lane, Woolton, the other of George's parents in their garden of their home in Appleton, Cheshire, largest -- 4¾x3½in. (12.5x8.7cm.) , a swing label taken from garden furniture that had arrived unexpectedly as a gift from George to his parents; an L.P. Please Please Me , 1963, Parlophone gold label, Mono in a NEMS - Liverpool... plastic record bag [the record apparently purchased from Epstein's shop on the day of its release although the NEMS bag could be from a later date]; a Dark Horse Records sticker, given to Harold Harrison by his son; three cardboard cut-out Beatle portrait coathangers of Paul, George and Ringo, each -- 16x15¾in. (40.7x40cm.) ; two scrap albums containing press cuttings and publicity photographs, the majority of George Harrison circa 1966-1969; an L.P. Two Virgins , 1968, Apple, USA pressing, in brown paper censorship sleeve; a fragment of an autograph letter, signed from Louise Harrison, George's mother and an autograph letter, signed from George's father Harold to Sue, [n.d.but May 1973], telling her ..George and Pattie are in L.A. at the moment, doing some recording with Ringo and John...as regards the concert with Paul I don't think I would like it very much...you see I have met and heard "Linda Eastman"... 2pp.; and related material (a lot)
