Title: The Book of Common Prayer [with] The Whole Book of Psalms Author: Place: London Publisher: Thomas Baskett / Company of Stationers Date: 1752 / 1751 Description: Two works bound as one. (12mo) 13x6.5 cm (5¼x2½") period full calf, black leather label lettered in gilt. On the blank leaf separating the two works is neatly written in an 18th century hand a list of the births and deaths of Thomas and Barbara Clark, marred 26 June 1737 and their descendants, followed by a shorter list of the descendants of Reverend William Hooper (the two families joined by marriage) the final birth listed being that of his namesake William Hooper, born in Boston June 28, 1742. The latter William Hooper was an American lawyer, politician, and a member of the Continental Congress representing North Carolina from 1774 through 1777. Hooper was also a signer of the United States Declaration of Independence from North Carolina. The list appears to be in two different hands, the writers' identities undetermined.
