London: Printed for and by T. Wright [1776] 8vo (8 x 5 1/8 in.; 205 x 130 mm). Folding engraved map; lacking 2 engraved views, some soiling at top margin. Disbound, shaken. The consignor has independently obtained a letter of authenticity from PSA that will accompany the lot. One of the earliest English printings of the Declaration, including a war map. The Westminster Magazine was one of several London periodicals to include the Declaration in the August issue; the full text appears on pages 431-32. The issue includes much other news about the Revolution, including an engraved "Map of the Present Seat of War in North America," accompanying a special report, "A Concise Account of the British Colonies in America."
