Portrait frontispiece and 2 illustrations. Original limp vellum by the Doves Bindery, lettered in gilt on the spine (upper hinge cracked, vellum slightly bowed). Provenance : Antonia Speyer (presentation inscription 'To Antonia Speyer "for remembrance" from her affectionate gossip C.S. 1 January 1914') -- Myles Standish Slocum (sale, Christie's New York, 20 November 1981, lot 196). ONE OF 150 COPIES ON PAPER. PRESENTATION COPY, inscribed by Cobden-Sanderson to the mother-in-law of his daughter Stella on the day of publication.
