THE DUCHESS OF CUMBERLAND'S CHRISTENING PRESENT AN AUSTRIAN SILVER-GILT CHRISTENING-SERVICE MARK OF J. C. KLINKOSCH, VIENNA, DATED 1907, WITH IMPERIAL WARRANT The beaker tapering and engraved with ribbon tied husk swags, the flatware each stamped with husks and shells, comprising: a table-spoon; a teaspoon; a table-fork; a knife with silver-gilt blade; a knife with steel blade, each engraved with initial M below a Royal crown, contained in silk lined fitted leather covered case, marked on each piece, the steel knife blade further stamped 'J.C KLINKOSCH WIEN', the case labelled 'J.C. KLINKSOCH K.UND K.HOF & KAMMER LIEFERANT WIEN' the case 11 in. (28 cm.) wide weighable silver 8 oz. (247 gr.) The initial is that of Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark, later The Duchess of Kent (1906-1968). The inscription reads 'from Great Aunt Thyra 1907 ' (6)
