THE DUCHESS OF CUMBERLAND'S CHRISTENING PRESENT AN AUSTRIAN SILVER-GILT CHRISTENING-SERVICE MARK OF J. C. KLINKOSCH, VIENNA, DATED 1900, WITH IMPERIAL WARRANT Each piece with scroll and palmette decoration on a matted ground, comprising: a table spoon; a teaspoon; a table fork; a knife with silver-gilt blade; a knife with steel blade, each engraved with a cypher below a Royal crown; and a tapering circular beaker, engraved with an inscription, contained in silk lined fitted leather covered case, marked on each piece, the steel knife blade further stamped 'J.C KLINKOSCH WIEN', the case labelled 'J.C. KLINKOSCH K.UND K.HOF & KAMMER LIEFERANT WIEN' the case 10¾ in. (27 cm.) wide weighable silver 10 oz. (320 gr.) The inscription reads ' To my dear little Godson Henry William Frederick Albert prince of Great Brittain [sic] and Ireland from his Godmother and aunt Thyra Duchess of Cumberland of Brunswick [sic] and Luneburg May 17th 1900' . The cypher is that of H.R.H. The Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester.
