Late edition of part 3, termed 'The second book, the second part' when first published by John Seller in 1677. Seller, who was an instrument maker in Wapping as well as cartographer and publisher, was not responsible for the subsequent parts. Tooley, Maps and Map-Makers p.61; this edition not in ESTC . The related work is a translation by Adams of Michelot’s Portulan de la mer Méditeranée , of which only two copies recorded in ESTC. 2 works in one volume, folio (470 x 293mm). Both works with royal arms on titles. 1st work: 16 double-page engraved charts (?only, possibly lacking a folding chart present in the Wardington copy, but we have been unable to verify a collation), 15 engraved harbour plans in text, woodcut coastal profiles (occasional marginal repairs). Modern vellum-backed boards. Provenance : ‘Isaac Heard of the College of Arms, London 1789, formerly in his Majesty’s Navy’ (inscription on front free endpaper).
