No. 293 of 675 copies, designed by Francis Meynell, printed by Walter Lewis at the University Press, Cambridge, England. A fine press edition of the classic historical writings by the ancient Greek scholar, Herodotus. With illustrations, including maps of the Plan of Babylon, The Persian Empire, The Aegean, Greece, Italy, Libya, Egypt, Scythia, and Central Asia. Lot Amendments Condition: Spine a bit sunned, light shelf wear, cloth rubbed, faint spotting to vellum (slight wrinkling to upper portion); front hinge possibly glue repaired, rear hinge loose, still very good.
