Title: The Iliad and The Odyssey [In Greek] Author: Homer Place: [Munich] Publisher: [Bremer Press] Date: [1923-24] Description: 2 volumes. (Folio) 35x22.5 cm. (13¾x9"), original linen-backed boards, paper spine labels. One of 615 copies. Two of the most important books from the Press, using their magnificent Greek type face, considered the most beautiful printing of Homer. “The Press was very much in the grand tradition .. a few good special type faces being cut and used with magnificent effect in large-format editions of Homer .. its influence on German printing was probably greater and longer lasting than that of any of the other fine presses.” (Cave: The Private Press.) Lot Amendments Condition: Spines darkened, label of Odyssey slightly chipped; else very good or better, internally fine. Item number: 206343
