An outstanding figural staffordshire group commemerating the Kilmainham Treaty of 1882 between Gladstone, then Prime Minister & Parnell the leader of the Irish. The treaty resulted in Parnell's release from prison. This figure was the central part of a 3 piece set with with the angel of peace in center flanked by lady with a harp reprsenting Ireland, & Brittania. The 12.5" high angel is holding ribbon banner in green with gilt inscription "Peace on Earth Good Will Towards Men". Listed as Rare in P.D. Gordon Pugh's book on Staffordshire portrait figures. Condition:Slight wear to gilt and other paint.
