The Julian Johnson Collection The Order of St. John group of three to Colonel A. Clark Honorary Surgeon to the King The Order of St. John of Jerusalem, Knight of Grace set of insignia, neck badge and breast star, silver and enamel, slight enamel damage; Coronation 1911 (Col. Andrew Clark V.D., K.H.S.); Volunteer Decoration, V.R., hallmarks for London 1892, reverse inscribed, ‘Brigade Surgeon Lt. Col. Andrew Clark 4th Middx. Rifles, Presented by H.R.H. The Duke of Cambridge, Decr. 19th 1892’, complete with brooch bar, good very fine except where stated (4) £400-500 Footnote Provenance: Colonel D. G. B. Riddick Collection, D.N.W., March 2007. Andrew Clark was born in London and was educated privately and at the University of London. He was at times Honorary Surgeon to the King; Colonel in the Army Medical Service; Assistant Director of Medical Services, 2nd London Division, T.F.; Consulting Surgeon to the Middlesex Hospital and to the Marylebone General Dispensary and Vice-President and Gold Medallist of the British Medical Association. He died on 29 August 1913.
