Signed by author Lord Dunsany on the preface page; signed by illustrator S.M. Sime beneath the frontispiece. Widely recognized as one of the most influential books in the fantasy genre, with L. Sprague de Camp describing it as being on par with The Lord of the Rings in terms of its quality and influence. Lot Amendments Condition: Jacket with some repair work, creasing and some minor chips to edges, jacket about ½" taller than book; some rubbing and soiling to vellum and cloth, rubbing to edges, spotting to top edge; very good.
