The Mercury Seven, 1 March 1960 Large-format vintage chromogenic print, 35 x 27.5cm (14 x 11in), on “A Kodak Paper” £600-800 NASA’s elite “Astronaut Group 1” in pressure suits. Top row: Shepard, Grissom and Cooper, bottom row: Schirra, Slayton, Glenn and Carpenter. Morse, a staff photographer with Life magazine, spent so much time with the men that he was nicknamed “the eighth astronaut”.
