25 volumes, including Nonesuch Dickensiana and an original woodcut block for an illustration by Marcus Stone Also included is the pamphlet, "A Note on the Format." The volumes are illustrated after the original engravings by Phiz (Hablot K. Browne) & others. (Large 8vo), original variously colored buckram, leather spine labels, top edges gilt. One of 877 copies, designed by Francis Meynell, printed at R. & R. Clark. One of the most noteworthy of all collected editions of the Works of Charles Dickens handsomely printed, and with the superbly reproduced original illustrations. The original woodcut block by Marcus Stone is from Our Mutual Friend, and is entitled "Mr. Wegg prepares a grindstone for Mr. Boffin's nose." A print pulled from the block, as well as a letter of authenticity signed by an officer at Chapman & Hall, Ltd., are also included.
