Title: The Photographic History of the Civil War in Ten Volumes Author: Miller, Francis Trevelyan, editor Place: New York Publisher: The Review of Reviews Co. Date: 1912 Description: 10 volumes. Illustrated with thousands of photographs, plus maps. Many text pages in decorative borders. Additional titles in each volume. Contributions from about 40 authors, including many veterans. 10¾x7¾, original blue cloth, spines lettered in gilt, top edges gilt. The single most important compilation of photographs of the soldiers, battlefields, generals, destroyed cities, and other features of the War of the Rebellion. Many of the photographs had not previously been published. Lot Amendments Condition: Edge wear and rubbing, some finger-soiling; bindings somewhat shaken, two leaves loose, other mild wear; final volume with previous owner's rubberstamp, still a very good or better set, clean and bright.
