[ii], xliv, 347, [7] pp. Etched frontispiece, 11 plates, 5 facsimile title pages. (12mo) 19x13 cm (7½x5") early full brown crushed morocco, spine lettered in gilt, raised bands, red morocco doublures, marbled free endpapers and flyleaves, elaborately stamped in gilt, all edges gilt. No. 65 of 144 copies, including 12 deluxe copies on Japan vellum for the members of the Duodecimos. Anne Bradstreet was the first female poet in British North America to be published. The frontispiece is signed by the artist, Edmund H. Garrett Finely bound by Marius Michel The Duodecimos were a group of 12 noted bibliophiles of the day, including Francis Wilson Paul Lemperly, Brander Matthews, DeWitt Miller, Leon H. Vincent, and others, this is the second tile published by the club, the first being a facsimile of Benjamin Franklin's Poor Richard's Almanack for 1733. Lot Amendments Condition: Fine.
