Originally published 1774, this was one of the major 18th century architectural pattern books, going through at least five American editions and eight London editions. This and Pain’s other works served as design sources not only for architects and builders but also for cabinet makers and carvers. Lot Amendments Condition: Extremities rubbed, some scuffing to leather, hinges cracked; foxing; very good. Item number: 209511
